Jeep Rocks the Road to Bellevue

With over half of the Jeep Rocks & Road Tour gone, American manufacturer Chrysler is taking its Jeep caravan to Bellevue, Nebraska this week, where it will attend the 2010 Defenders of Freedom Air Show at the Offutt Air Force Base.

This is the sixth stop of the tour which started in the middle of July. As was the case at all previous venues, Jeep will be on site to provide all those interested a taste of Jeep on- and off-road driving by setting up several courses to be tackled by wannabe off-roaders.

Chrysler staff will give visitors a taste of what Jeeps have to endure before receiving the green light for production by sending them through various courses, including one containing several obstacles which simulate the Jeep testing procedures.

The course features steep grades, rocky trails and log crossings, all created as a means for the public to understand the Trail Rated capabilities of Jeep vehicles for articulation, ground clearance, maneuverability and traction.

“We are partnering with various venues across the country to reach out to our loyal Jeep consumers, while branching out to those with new interest in the one-of-a-kind Jeep brand,” explains Mike Manley, Jeep CEO.

“This tour provides an ideal venue to experience the countless features and legendary capability offered in the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as the other vehicles in the Jeep brand family.”

There are now only four stops left in the tour, with the last one to take place at the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 29. Next week, the tour will be present at the Thunder Over the Blue Ridge Air Show Martinsburg, West Virginia.
