Jason Castriota Gets a Place on 100 Most Creative People List

Having made a name for himself in the automotive business years ago, Saab's current chief designer Jason Castriota needs little presentation. The fact that he was included in the 00 Most Creative People in Business compiled by fast Company comes as no surprise either (he is number 69, the leader of the pack being Al Jazeera's Wadah Khanfar).

In a time when Saab is still struggling to secure funds, it must be reassuring to know that at least one of your employees is worth more than a profile on the company's web page. Having graduated from Emerson College in Boston and later the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Castriota took his first real design job at Pininfarina, where he managed to climb to the position of chief designer.

He later took on the job of director of design at Stile Bertone. Two years after that, in 2010, he was appointed head of design at Saab, right when Spyker was becoming the new owner of the Swedish brand and had high hopes for the acquisition.
His most recent work is the PhoeniX Concept, presented by the Swedish at the Geneva Auto Show in March as “a new reference point for the future of Saab product design.”

"I am incredibly honored to be selected by Fast Company as one of 100 Most Creative People in Business," said Jason Castriota, executive director of Design, Saab Automobile AB. "To be included within such an impressive list of professionals encompassing technology, entertainment, design and education signifies the breadth and depth that creativity carries to all facets of our lives."
