Jaguar XKR-S Coupe Becomes XKR-S Convertible via Crane Crush

The European market only received 200 units of the Jaguar XKR-S Coupe (we're referring to the previous model here) and those who wanted an open-top experience were left waiting, as Jag didn't release such a model until the current model arrived.

However, it's best if you do not attempts a DIY conversion, as the end result of an aftermarket modification process can't match the fit and finish of the stock model, especially if you're in a hurry like the people that created the disaster in the aforementioned images were.

The massacre took place in a Belgian village called Gits, in the parking lot of the local car dealer. A large crane that was aiming to put a massive fuel tank for a gas station being built nearby into position, tippled over, crushing two cars in the lot.

One of the was the aforementioned limited edition Jag, which went down together with another GT vehicle, a previous-generation BMW 6-Series (a 630i). To make matters even worse, the dealer claims he had just sold the XKR-S for EUR150,000 (US$194,000).

It seems that the 60-ton crane cause the ground underneath it to collapse, which is why the vehicle, together with its load, ended up crushing the two GT cars.
