An official statement made today brings news of the most hardcore leaper ever. Jaguar just announced 10 examples of the limited production XKR-S GT, a track-ready road car, will be sold in the UK.
The model which was revealed earlier this year at the New York Auto Show is now ready for very limited production. Those 10 lucky customers had better be very rich, because the XKR-S GT has been priced at a considerate £135,000.
The initial plan was to only make 30 examples for customers in the US, but its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed must have prompted affluent UK customers to ask for their own examples.
The XKR-S GT features the same 550 hp supercharged V8 as the -S, but it boasts radical aerodynamic changes and honed suspension which allowed it to lap the Nurburgring in just 7 minutes and 40 seconds
The XKR-S GT uses a new development of front and rear suspension that includes a wider front track, increased camber, revised bushings, a new steering system and faster steering ratio, all developed upon learning gained from Jaguar’s new F-Type.
£135,000 might sound like a lot, but it's less than a new Porsche 911 Turbo S and it's also very exclusive.
