Jaguar F-Type Spied Testing Ahead of Paris Debut

Want a six-cylinder sportscar that’s not a Porsche? Nissan 370Z too old and fat for you? Jaguar might have the answer in their aluminum-built, supercharged adrenaline pumper called the F-Type.

Before letting loose their new sportscar onto the world, Jaguar first rigorously tested it on normal roads, on their own track and more recently at the Nurburgring. They also let us know that we’re going to see the official debut at the Paris Motor Show on September 27th.

Also official is the engine choice - two versions of the same 3.0-liter supercharged V6 pushing out either 335hp (340PS) and 375hp (380PS), plus a supercharged V8 for the ‘R’ model.

The gearbox will be an eight-speed automatic, and later on a six-speed manual will be offered.

From what we can tell from listening to the exhausts in this video, the car with twin tips in the middle is a V6 and the one with a quad system sounds like a supercharged V8 (the one at the end of the video).

autoevolution will be attending the Paris Motor Show 2012, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
