Pace, Space and Grace is the old Jaguar motto that inspired the name of the first crossover in company history. It will debut in 2016, and we have a video that proves engineers are taking things very seriously.
A group of F-Pace prototypes were recently filmed by Roman from The Fast Lane Car in the Colorado Rockies. This location is the place many automakers come to develop their future models. Still, seeing the British duo out in the open is a real treat.

And what better car to go prototype hunting in than a brand new BMW X6 M, the daddy of all sports activity coupes. It's powerful twin-turbo V8 engine ensures that there's no chance the Jags will get away.

Mind you, the F-Pace will not push its output nearly as far as the X6 M. We can almost guarantee there will be a performance model powered by a V6 engine, the same one you get with the F-Type.

Jaguar's first crossover is supposed to be built around an aluminum platform to keep things nice and light. But the engine range will be more about combining excitement with frugality. The portfolio will be made up of new 2-liter diesel and petrol engines from the Ingenium family. They should offer outputs that vary between 163 PS for the most efficient diesel to 240 PS for the most powerful petrol (maybe even 285 PS). We've even seen some prototypes with a manual gearbox, but we doubt those are coming to the US.

Development has even started on an entirely electric model, which would be another first for Jaguar. Reports suggest the F-Pace E will land in 2017 or later and offer 300 miles (483 km) of range on a single charge.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
