The Aston Martin Cygnet is a unique proposition in the auto world, as it brings all the luxury and glamor of an Aston into a city car package. The fact that it’s actually a rebadged Toyota iQ seems to have been forgiven by most, so the decision to build such an efficient vehicle was a good one.
Now, it seems that rival company Jaguar is considering creating a competitor for the Cygnet, as the carmaker’s head of design, Ian Callum, let slip. Callum told What Car? that the company sees a market demand for such a vehicle, speaking at the 2011 LA Auto Show.

“'It would be a high-end small car for city use,” Callum said. He went on to offer us an interesting hint: the vehicle might ditch the conventional hatchback shape and arrive in the form of a coupe of small sedan. This raises a lot of questions, such as what platform will be used and what the level of performance will be (we have to remind you that this should be an energy-efficient development), but it’s too early for this.
