Jaguar Academy of Sport Welcomes WBA Champ David Haye

The newest member of the Jaguar Academy of Sport is current WBA World Heavyweight Champion, David Haye, the British car brand announced today. The announcement took place today at the Jaguar Boutique in London where David was joined by rising star from the Jaguar Academy of Sport, 18-year-old boxer, Jeff Saunders.

“I am thrilled to be working with the Jaguar Academy of Sport, it is a great initiative and one that could have a really positive affect on young athletes at the beginning of their careers. I feel passionately about putting something back into British sport and I look forward to supporting the next generation,” stated Haye in a release.

The Jaguar Academy has a Bursary Fund, which will support new British sporting talent, as well as an annual Awards Ceremony.

“When Jaguar Academy of Sport rang and asked if I would like to come down today to meet David Haye I jumped at the chance. I have had an amazing day and I can’t believe I have met one of my sporting idols, he has been an inspiration to me and I will take all of his advice on board,” added Jaguar Academy of Sport rising star Jeff Saunders.

Other names on the Jaguar Academy Ambassadors list include Jamie Baulch, Tasha Danvers, Jessica Ennis, Mark Foster, Steven Gerrard, Sir Chris Hoy, Colin Jackson, Dave Roberts, Michael Vaughan, Lee Westwood, Rio Ferdinand and Shane Williams.

“The Jaguar Academy of Sport is going from strength to strength and we are delighted to have David Haye on board to add to the wealth of British talent that is already part of the initiative. David is a world class British competitor and will be a great inspiration to the young athletes that are part of the Jaguar Academy of Sport,”
