Ever thought that you saw Wolverine racing motorcycles around the Isle of Man? Well, then you obviously say Guy Martin, one of the big names who have been racing around the Snaefell mountains for years, now. This year it looks like Martin is up for tackling another mountain, as he is said to be a part of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
The PPIHC organizers have apparently tried for quite a long time to bring some big names from the IOM TT and similar races (Manx, North West 200 and more) to the “Race to the Clouds” and it looks like Guy Martin is the first TT legend to become a part of this iconic event.

Even though the team he will be with is yet unknown, A&R seems to have found out that he will be riding a bike built by himself, based on a 1992 Suzuki GSX-R1100. The bike is supposed to have a Martek frame and a turbocharger is also rumored to be part of the Pikes Peak fun. Reportedly, the bike delivered 320 horsepower, but in case the nitrous system which was envisioned by Guy Martin, it could be good for around 500 hp.

At the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the critical mark is the 10-minute run. So far, only Carlin Dunne and Greg Tracy have completed the race in less than 10 minutes, coining this mark as one of the most important milestones in the two-wheeled racing classes. With the Pikes Peak course fully covered in asphalt, times are most likely to get better. Follow this link to watch Greg Tracy's run.

The 2014 Pikes peak International Hill Climb will take place June 23-29, with the 92nd race to the clouds to drop its flag on Sunday, June 29, at 07:59 am local time.
