Judging by the title, you probably thought this is just another article about some tuner creating a special BMW with added luxury. But Trussardi is actually an Italian design brand that is mostly known for making leather jackets, jeans, handbags and accessories, not body kits, engine mods and chrome wheels.

The company is celebrating its centenary this year with a number of events and special product launches, including a cooperation with BMW Italy. The result of this unlikely partnership is a limited edition version of the 5-Series Gran Turismo with some custom styling cues.

Taking inspiration from the wonderful world of leather, the emphasis was placed on a unique exterior and more luxurious interior. The result: it looks a bit like one of those brown Porsche 928s.

The exterior of the car has been painted in an exclusive warm metallic brown named ‘Heraldic Brown’ that features three layers of paint. Numerous trim pieces, such as the double kidney grilles and the window line decorations, have also been painted this color. Trussardi’s coat of arms has been added to the front fenders.

Moving on the interior, where the seats have been covered in a special Glove Beige color, with contrasting stitching that creates a caned motif inspired Trussardi’s glove series. The logo from the fenders has been carried over to the headrests and the center tunnel.

BMW has stated that the 5-Series GT by Trussardi will be built by custom order only. Pricing has not yet been announced but we can tell you that two petrol and two diesel engines are available, all of which can be fitted with all-wheel drive.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
