We could expect new publicity moves from Nissan’s premium division, Infiniti, as the luxury brand has a new marketing director for Europe, Russia and Middle East, in the person of Jean-Pierre Diernaz, 41.The executive, who is replacing Bastien Schupp, is a sales and marketing specialist who joined Nissan in 2005, as head of advertising and media in Europe.

In 2007 he was promoted to General Manager Marketing Communications, a position that saw him defining Nissan’s vision in Europe, increasing brand awareness with a number of breakthrough campaigns.

He made his first career steps with Ford, after graduating from ISG university in Paris. He will be responsible of the brand’s image and positioning its products in a large region including Europe, Russia and Middle East.

To be part of the team at Infiniti at this time is incredibly exciting,” said Diernaz. “The brand has made a solid start in Europeover the past 18 months, but now with the imminent launch of our diesel range and the M Line sedan arriving soon, the opportunity is there for Infiniti really to make its mark in Europe. Helping guide Infiniti to achieving the growth I know it is capable of is going to be challenging but very rewarding. I am looking forward to it immensely.

Jean-Pierre Diernaz will take over in his new job immediately. His office will be located at Infiniti Europe’s headquarters building in Rolle, outside Geneva. He reports to Jim Wright, Vice President Infiniti AMIE (Africa, Middle East, India and Europe).

His predecessor, Bastien Schupp, has been appointed Country Director Austria. Based in Vienna, he reports to Andreas Gabriel, Managing Director Nissan Central Europe.
