General Motors is currently preoccupied with starting the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV fleet sales, with the 4WT model leading the charge with an MSRP of $79,800. And maybe that's the best signal for everyone to expect the EVs also to give a jolt to GM's tough SUV designs.
Chevrolet, for example, has two styling directions for its crossovers and SUVs – the split-headlight design of the 'little' ones and a rugged look for the body-on-frame models. However, many expect the Silverado EV to lend its LED lightbar attitude to the upcoming Tahoe and Suburban facelifts – at least as far as the rumor mill is concerned. But how about their counterparts at GMC?

Well, things are simpler over there, as the SUV range is smaller and comprises the base $30k Terrain, followed by the $36,800 Acadia with seating up to seven plus the Yukon and Yukon XL with space for up to nine persons. So, what if the 2024 GMC Sierra EV will also lead the charge for the upcoming redesigns and all-new generations of these rugged SUVs? Nobody will know for sure if that is the case right now, but the imaginative realm of digital car content creators still dreams of unofficially taking the presentation duties for themselves.

For example, Dimas Ramadhan, the virtual automotive artist behind the Digimods DESIGN channel on YouTube, has taken up the task of revealing the next Acadia - in CGI. So, after a long string of Asian designs like the Mitsubishi E-Pajero and the next Mazda6, among others, the pixel master is now going through an American phase in his CGI reel – and it's mostly occupied by EV-inspired ideas like the all-new 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee or this new-generation GMC Acadia.

Interestingly, the mid-size crossover SUV takes a lot of design cues from the GMC Sierra EV – including the closed-grille front fascia treatment but still keeps its ICE-powered credentials, as it is pretty evident from sporting a couple of rectangular exhaust outlets integrated into the rear bumper. The styling, meanwhile, is thoroughly modern, with sculpted LED head- and taillights. Alas, do take all this with a healthy grain of salt because nothing is official from GMC just yet.

As for the GMC Acadia nameplate, the model was originally a full-size crossover SUV between 2006 and 2017 manufactured on General Motors' Lambda platform and twinned with the Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse, or Saturn Outlook. Throughout its lifetime, it used three guises of the group's 3.6-liter V6 with up to 310 horsepower. After 2017, the second generation was resized in the mid-size class on the C1XX platform alongside the Buick Enclave, Caddy XT5 and XT6, plus the Chey Blazer and Traverse. It currently packs a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four, can be had in a tough AT4 guise, and still features the 3.6-liter V6 LGX as an option.
