The 1700 visitors and potential buyers which attended the event have left the bus maker with the impression that their products are still in demand, despite the fact that the fair saw no less than 200 used vehicles of various brands attending (the IGOM fair included, aside for Setra itself, Setra general distributors, the EvoBus subsidiaries and independent dealers).
"All in all we were once again able to welcome more guests from all over Europe this year. This is also reflected in the proportion of export sales, which increased from 35 to 40 percent this year,” said Erich Weinstock, head of the Setra Used Bus & Coach Center (GWC).
“This upturn makes us hopeful that our export business will see a long-term revival. Domestic sales also remain stable, and we wish to thank all customers and friends of the Setra family who made their way to Neu-Ulm in such large numbers."
The numbers which resulted from the Setra presence at the fair are, if not impressive, then at least encouraging. According to Daimler, a total of 75 used buses and coaches found buyers during the three days of the fair.
The GWC sold about three quarters of its existing stock, as well as an additional 16 new Setra buses and coaches during the IGOM fair.
