With all the excitement we can find today in the automotive industry, mostly caused by the rise to power of new, alternative means of transportation, the world of the bus operators is about to change. Of course, the change in this sector of the industry is expected to come not necessarily from established transporters, but mostly from new companies.
Recognizing that, bus manufacturer Setra invited no less that 40 companies, which represent the so-called young bus operators (YBO) to Prague, in an attempt to set the basis for a new and improved mass transportation system.
Although no decision has been taken yet on changing the rules, those attending the conference focused mostly on the creation of a a cross-border transportation network. The establishment of incentives of the young companies has also been discussed, as incentives might be the only tool which would help YBOs to expand their business.
"Through and with the Young Bus Operators we are always up to date, get to know the problems of the generations of young entrepreneurs and can provide incentives. Entirely in the spirit of the Setra Family the participants can establish new contacts in a relaxed atmosphere and exchange their ideas," said Lothar Holder, manager Sales Setra Bus and Coach Unit.
Setra, one of the biggest bus and coach manufacturers in Europe, was at the center of the industry this year, having received several awards for its products. Among them, the most important perhaps is the Top Standard Coach of the Year award, handed after the UK Coach Rally.
