The Moscow International Motor Show kicks off today in the Russian capital, with several automakers around the world promising to bring to the event interesting vehicles. This warmup for the Paris Auto Show in October will mean for Hyundai the presentation of a new concept dubbed Verna RB.

When it will turn production version, the car will be manufactured on the platform used for the Accent and will be assembled in Russia, at the carmaker's Sankt Petersburg facility. It will be sold in emerging markets as well, including India. In Russia, the model will be offered in two body styles, sedan and hatchback.

As standard, the model will be offered with 6 airbags, ABS, ESP, air conditioning, heated mirrors and an audio system with steering-wheel mounted controls. The prices for the model in Russia will begin at 400,000 rubles ($12,900/ EUR10,160).

Hyundai will be offering the model with only two engine choices, a 1.4l and a 1.6l unit developing 109 bhp and 122 bhp respectively. The Gamma units will be paired with either a four speed automatic transmission or a five speed manual one. Both engines promise to bring with them the usual two defining traits of modern powerplants: more power, less fuel consumption.

For the Indian market, the South Korean manufacturer had to devise a new suspension which could cope with the roads there. According to the information available, the model will be launched in late 2010 with a tuned suspension. The pricing information for the Indian market is not yet available, but it's expected to be made available soon..
