Hyundai Denies the Leaked Photos Show the Next Accent

After a couple of photos got leaked on the web and let everybody think that this is how the future Hyundai Accent will look like, a company representative stepped in front of the media and denied the reports. The photos only showed a sport package of the KDM Verna, Hyundai P.R. manager Dan Bedore explained according to autoblog.com, which is fairly different from the model the North American buyers are going to get.

As you can see for yourselves in the adjacent photos, the sport package brings lots of new things, including a redesigned front fascia, with a larger front bumper that houses the fog lamps. The headlights are slightly redesigned, as well as the grille which contributes to the aggressive appearance of the car.

It was initially thought that the future model will bring multiple improved powerplants, obviously concentrated on fuel economy and CO2 emissions. A report by hyundai-blog.com hinted that the upgraded range would include a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, with several technologies aimed at raising efficiency. One of those would be the addition of a new light on the dashboard that would guide the driver into driving more economically and reducing consumption as much as possible.

However, it looks like the first photos of the next Accent are yet to be released, as the Hyundai official himself claimed. The future model "will have a distinct, exciting new look of its own when it is introduced. The Verna Transform pictured here is a sport package for the KDM model Verna only," he was quoted as saying by the guys over at Autoblog.
