Hyundai made a car for parents whose kids are mad about Disneyland and get to decide on the next family car. The Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition will now arrive in showrooms. The red carpet is already rolled out. The car is going to star in an Ioniq 5 Platinum Road Trip Social Series in the company of Josh Peck and John Stamos.
Actors from the Disney family will promote the car on the show starting on January 23. Peck and Stamos will take a road trip in the special edition and visit several locations that serve as historical milestones in the history of The Walt Disney Company.

Their route will include The Walt Disney Company Studio Lot, Tam O'Shanter restaurant, Griffith Park, and Palm Springs Air Museum.

Behind-the-scenes content, photos, running vehicle footage, and more will show up on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

The series will feature four episodes between 2 and 4 minutes, released throughout the week. All of them will be uploaded on the Disney YouTube channel. Hyundai is the exclusive North American automotive sponsor for the Disney100 Celebration. So it does make sense for the carmaker to come up with a Disney-inspired model, even though we all know right from the start who's making the decisions in the families who buy this car.

The limited-run Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition was unveiled in the shape of a concept car at the New York Auto Show in April 2023 and was first shown on live TV in the opening scene of 'Dancing With the Stars' six months later. But long gone is the digital grille that showed up on the concept car, making up a head-turning front end, and so is the rear panel displaying a similar animation between the taillights.

The special edition starts at $59,400, plus the $1,375 delivery charge. Only 1,000 such units will roll off the production line, all with a dual-motor setup and 320 horsepower, delivered to all four corners.

The cars will be painted in Gravity Gold Matte and will ride on Disney100-exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels. Disney100 Platinum Edition badges will show up on the front fender to make sure everyone knows this is a special model.

The cabin will be dominated by the exclusive terra brown and mud bray two-tone combination, while the Disney100 logo will be debased on the headrests of the front seats and on the center console armrest cover, but also on the floor mats.

There is a strip on the front and rear doors, which is also inspired by the Disney theme, as it depicts the shape of Mickey Mouse's head. The Disney theme also shows up on the screen when the car is turned on. The graphic will be accompanied by Disney music and pixie dust.
