Doing so, requires some skill, as the water pump is located in a pretty tight space an you will also need to unmount a few parts off the engine. So if you don’t think you can handle it, visit a service. Else, grab your toolbox and buy a replacement water pump compatible with your model. Here’s how to do it:
  • Disconnect the battery terminal
  • Remove the engine plastic cover by unscrewing the two bolts
  • Take a 19 mm socket ratchet and loosen the accessory belt tensioner
  • Remove the accessory belt
  • Next, remove all cable connections from the alternator
  • Unscrew all the bolts fixing the alternator on the engine and remove it to have better access to the water pump
  • Remove the bolts from the water pump and take it out
  • Don’t forget to replace the water pump's sealing gasket
  • Put the new water pump in and screw it in place
  • Do the same with the alternator
