Even if the 2014 Toyota Corolla got a whole new upscale design new features, the automaker kept most of the mechanical parts from the outgoing model, enhancing only what it was needed.
So, if you want to replace the engine air filter, don’t be too surprised to find the same filter box as with the predecessor’s one. Checking and replacing the air filter remains as easy as before and here are the steps:
  • Open up the hood
  • Locate the filter’s case on the right side of the engine bay
  • Snap the two retaining hinges - one on the right side of the case and one on the upper side
  • Lift the upper case part and extract the air filter
  • Place the new one instead and place the cap back
  • Don’t forget to snap the retaining hinges back on.
