In order to replace the sparkplugs or simply unmount the whole piston heads of your Toyota 1.6-liter gasoline VVTi engine, you’ll first have to take the ignition coils out of the way.
The process is very easy and you’ll only need a 10 mm socket ratchet and a screwdriver. Here are the steps:
Let the engine cool off
Open the hood and remove the screws from the engine plastic cover
Take the plastic cover out
Disconnect the electrical wiring from all the ignition coils
Unscrew and remove all the bolts holding the coils fixed
Take the ignition coils out and continue with your planned work.
