If you’re not happy with your 2008 Scion tC’s maneuverability, you can install a strut bar and make the front suspension stiffer. There are a few ways to install a strut bar, but here we’ll handle the easy way.
You’ll need a flat screwdriver, a ratchet with 14 mm socket (and wrench) and a strut bar. Here are the steps:
  • Remove the plastic caps to reveal the wipers mounting nuts
  • Open up the hood
  • Unscrew the nuts and remove the wipers
  • Use the screwdriver and pop out the plastic rivets that hold the water catcher in place
  • If you want, you can remove the whole water catcher, but prying up just its ends should be enough for the job
  • Unscrew and remove the nuts holding the struts
  • Place the strut bar on its mountings and secure it with the nuts
  • Put back the water catcher and wipers.
