If your older Toyota Corolla’s central lock light stays on the dashboard even after closing the doors and the lights in the car do the same, it may indicate that the sensor on one of the doors is damaged.
Replacing the damaged sensor is simple and can be done with minimum tools, like a Philips screwdriver.
- Open the door and locate the sensor. It’s that button-looking part next to the door’s striker
- Remove the screw and pull the sensor out
- Next remove its plastic/rubber to expose the actual sensor
- Unplug the sensor from the cable and replace with new one
- Put everything back and test the doors if they lock properly and no error stays on the dashboard.
