Replacing sparkplugs on a Toyota Yaris is a job you can perform at home using some basic tools.
For the job you’ll need a 10mm socket ratchet with extender, copper grease and 16mm sparkplug wrench. Of course, you need four new sparkplugs compatible with your vehicle model. Here are the steps:
- Leave the engine cool off
- Open up the hood and remove the air filter box - there are two clips on each side
- Remove the 4 screws holding the spark plugs coils
- Insert the sparkplug wrench in the whole and remove the sparkplugs one by one
- Insert the new sparkplugs (put some copper grease on their threads) and carefully screw them in
- Put the coils back and mount the screws.
