Yes, we know that press releases are a bit boring, but so are Skoda models mostly. Not even the hot versions of the Fabia or Octavia manage to grab your attention by the suspenders, but that hasn’t stopped them from doing well at the start of 2012, despite the sluggish European market.
Not only did they increase their overall sales by 10.2 percent to 75,400 units in January, but they also managed the best January result ever in their entire corporate history. What’s more, their new products, the Citigo and Rapid, enjoyed decent launches in the Czech Republic and India. Amazing... ly boring, isn’t it?!

It appears that Europe is filled with boring, but very sensible customers, and this suits the Czech automaker very well. In Switzerland for instance, sales rose by 46.2 percent to almost units, lifting SKODA to number two nationwide. In Germany, SKODA’s sales increased by 23.2 percent to more than 8,900 units, in Austria by 33.9 percent to over 2,000 units. At plus 30.6 percent, 24.0 percent and 19.5 percent in deliveries respectively, the Yeti, Octavia and Roomster were especially popular in Western Europe.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
