We may be facing the greatest rat rod anarchy since the Mad Max movie was released and it’s all arriving courtesy of the latest music video coming from Five Finger Death Punch.
Dubbed “House of the Rising Sun”, the Los Angeles metallers’ clip takes us to a desert world that pretty much resembles that portrayed in Mad Max.
It seems that the ecological issues were of uttermost important here - It’s all about the right fuels. While the boys and especially the girls in the video seemed to be... ahem... running on alcohool, the multitude of rad rod machinery present doubles the usual gasoline burning with diesel.
A diesel rat rod, where have we head this before? The Welderup shop in Las Vegas, of course. These are the guys that brought us an apocalytic oil burning perspective with their 1928 Dodge Rat Rod Turbo Diesel Cummins. Five Finger Death Punch’s Guitarist, Zoltan Bathory, had visited the custom car builders before and now the band has gone all the way.
The video, which you can see below, offers all sorts of menacing metal and, as you can imagine, everybody drives these things as if they were stolen from Welderup. Who knows, perhaps that’s what actually happened...
