One man in Colorado recently put on a hot pursuit show that seems to rival the action in Grand Theft Auto with stunning accuracy. Ryan Stone, a 28-year old who had been convicted for drug-related activities, managed to... ahem... generate a pursuit that saw him stealing three cars and crashing into about twice as many vehicles.
It all started in a gas station in Longmont, Colorado, at 6:20 am, with Stone grabbing a Ford Edge, despite the fact that a four-year-old was inside the car - his mother had left the kid inside while she went inside the station for a little while. When Marta Rodriguez returned to the car and realized what had happened, she called 911, fearing for her the life of her son, Allan.

In about one hour’s time, Stone left the SUV behind, four-year-old included, car jacking a Dodge Grand Caravan. By the way, the man rammed the minivan in the process. He put the new “acquisition” through quite an ordeal, reportedly going over 100 mph (160 km/h) through traffic.

State trooper Bellamann Hee was laying down stop sticks trying to stop Stone when the man hit him with the car. The accident took place at 8:03 am, with the officer being seriously injured. Fortunately, doctors expect the policeman to fully recover.

Stone then rear-ended a Toyota Camry and got out of the car, pretending to complain about the crash. His efforts to trick the Camry’s driver, a young woman, paid off, as she had her doors open and he could steal the Toyota. She tried to prevent him, but Stone managed to get away.

Nonetheless, Stone crashed the Camry later on. A police car was nearby, so the man tried to flee the scene on foot. When he realized that he wouldn’t make it, he laid down on the ground to permit arrest.

Stone is now charged with quite a lot off felonies, from multiple aggravated auto thefts to assault.
