Honda Updates Motocross Range for 2012

Motorcycle manufacturer Honda revealed today updates for three of the company’s flagship off-road machines for 2012, which are set to go on sale this fall. All three models will sport new Honda Racing-inspired graphics. In addition to that, the CRF405R and CRF250R will be receiving engine updates, improved suspension and wider footpegs, while the CRF150RB will see engine updates.

This means the CRF150RB will get a revamped liquid-cooled 149cmc 4-stroke engine with extra power, torque and driveability cross a wider rev range. Revised suspension settings mean a 37mm inverted Showa front fork and Pro-Link rear suspension system to help the rider deal with bumpy off-road terrain more efficiently.

The CRF450R has optimized suspension on the front and rear with more rigid fork outer tubes, plus a tough and lightweight
Honda Progressive Steering Damper. Combined with the new wider and lighter footpegs, these updates are designed to give riders greater stability on rough terrain and improve steering.

There are several changes on the CRF250R’s power-plant to include an all-new cylinder head and new camshaft for enhanced drivability at low and medium rpm, plus enhanced mid range power and torque feel. Other changes to this lightweight off-roader include new Pro-Link rear suspension linkage for enhanced traction and improved chassis control, new suspension settings and longer and wider footpegs for stable running on rough terrain which together, are aimed at further boosting rider confidence.

Pricing for the revised range are expected to be released closer to the market launch.
