Honda Pulls Out of AMA

Honda announced that they will withdraw from the 2009 AMA Roadracing Series, an extremely difficult decision to make considering that racing is probably Honda's best known attributes. One of the prime factor that led to this decision is the deterioration of the global economic situation.

Although team Honda will not be on the pits in the next year's race, Honda will continue to be represented in AMA Roadracing by both Erion Honda Racing and Corona Honda Racing teams. Present next year will also be Honda Red Bull Racing team, which is reaching its second year of partnership with Red Bull Energy Drink and will be attending at the 2009 Supercross and National Motocross season with a full roster of factory riders.

American Honda's factory and support teams have wined more than 100 national titles in U.S. Road Racing, ATV, Supermoto, Supercross, Motocross and off-road competitions.

Jut about a week ago Honda also announced it was dropping out of Formula 1, a piece of news that came like a blow to the chest of worldwide Honda fans that were hoping for a miraculous comeback for Honda in the F1 Championship.

Honda will be represented at the AMA in 2009 by Neil Hodgson, the only Honda factory driver remaining. Also the winner from last year at the AMA Formula Xtreme Championship will gladly race for Erion Racing team which Honda will offer as support to the Corona Racing team.
