When we found out that the modern interpretation of the Honda CR-Z will be a hybrid vehicle we were disappointed as we'd expected something like a sporty compact that was supposed to rock the hot hatch world...and we’re guessing we’re not the only ones.
Mugen, Honda's tuning partner, has prepared a medicine that is aimed at relieving the pain of those who have been suffering since the CR-Z was presented. Actually, this is more of a test pill, as the car does not feature any powertrain upgrades...
The Mugen CR-Z is connected to the road through a new sport suspension system and a set of 17 inch alloy rims. The latter are offered in various designs. The car has also been fitted with a sport air filter, a performance oil filter, a bespoke exhaust system and a performance braking package. Customers can also opt for a tire pressure and temperature monitoring system.
The Mugen CR-Z is fitted with a redesigned front bumper, that comes in two versions: one that integrates fog lamp and one that replaces these with an ornament. The car’s front also received a bespoke grille. This can feature a LED illumination system and a carbon finished license plate support - both are optional. The car also received new side skirts. Moving to the back of the hatch, we find a redesigned rear bumper that incorporates a diffuser, complemented by a generous rear wing.
Mugen has fitted the interior of the CR-Z with a carbon-finished rear view mirror, an special gearshift knob, an additional gauges kit and new floor mats.
We’re still waiting for the CR-Z Type R Mugen...
