2011 Honda CR-Z Leaked Photos

Honda's new CR-Z is one of the latest contraptions belonging to the Japanese manufacturer that are constantly making the headlines, this time with a set of new leaked photos revealing its interior. As you can see in the adjacent photos published by the Temple of VTEC webpage, the production version retains many of the features seen on the concept but Honda is yet to release the full list of specs regarding the model.

Power will come from a gasoline-hybrid unit, obviously optimized for reduced emissions and improved economy. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine develops 114 horsepower and is mated to Honda's Integrated Motor Assist hybrid system that also adds 14 horsepower. The resulting torque is 164 lb-ft if taking into account the output of both engines.

The engine will be coupled to a six-speed manual transmission but a six-speed automatic will be also offered. Preliminary figures are claiming the CR-Z, which actually standard for Compact Renaissance Zero, will go from a naught to sixty in 9.7 seconds.

If we are to trust earlier rumors, the production version is likely to hit the market in the second half of 2010, with US debut to be made at the 2010 North American International Auto Show.

"The Honda CR-Z will expand our lineup of hybrid vehicles and reinforce the fun-to-drive values associated with the Honda brand,"
Erik Berkman, Honda Automobile Corporate Planning and Logistics said in a release. "Beyond great styling and features, CR-Z will bring new levels of engagement and fun to customers interested a small car or a hybrid vehicle."
