Honda Civic to Dance at the Sasquatch! Music Festival

A long-time partner of the Gorge Amphitheatre music festival, Japanese manufacturer Honda announced this week it would once again be one of the official partners of the event that has come to be known as the Sasquatch! Music Festival.

For Honda, the venue is the perfect opportunity to showcase the new ninth-generation Civic model. The car maker will be bringing to the site both versions of the new model, sedan and coupe. The two models will be on display at the Honda Zone, alongside the CR-Z Sport Hybrid. And since the event, which will take place in between May 27-30 is a time for joy, Honda places up for grabs, after a draw, a brand new Civic Si Coupe.

Presented earlier this year, the new Civic comes equipped with a 2.4l i-VTEC engine that delivers 201 horsepower and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm), paired to a 6-speed manual transmission and standard limited-slip differential.

"We have found that Civic owners are as passionate about great music as they are the environment," said Tom Peyton, senior manager of Honda national advertising. "Honda's participation in Sasquatch! allows our company to combine two issues that our owners care about into a single, fun event."

As for the musical part of the event, the entertainment will be insured by big and small names of the music industry: Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Wilco, Bassnectar, Robyn, Ratatat and Yeasayer. In all, some 30 bands are expected to do their best in front of a crowd of some 100,000 people.
