Honda CBR250R to Hit India in April 2011

Honda’s latest sensation, the new CBR250R, is slowly making its way to India, the company revealed recently. The model made its international debut at the EICMA show in Milan last November, and is expected to hit Indian roads by April this year.

Customers will be able to choose from three 2-tone paint schemes, namely Candy Ruby Red & Accurate Metallic Silver, Sword Silver Metallic & Accurate Silver Metallic, and Asteroid Black Metallic & Accurate Silver Metallic.

Online bookings for the new CBR250R have already started, and deliveries will be based on first to book, first one to be delivered basis. Official prices for the Indian market have been set at RS. 150,000 (US$3,330) for the base version and RS. 180,000 (US$3,999) for the ABS version.

The all-new CBR250R model is powered by a newly-developed liquid-cooled 249cc 4-stroke 4-valve single-cylinder DOHC engine coupled with a six-speed transmission, and that meets Euro 3 emission standards. This is thanks to Honda’s Programmed Fuel Injection System (PGM-FI) as well as an oxygen sensor, accompanied by a catalyzer fitted inside the exhaust pipe.

Safety wise, the machine packs Combined ABS (a world first for a 250cc-class road sports model), which makes the bike more stable by bringing together a Combined Brake System (CBS) and an Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS).

Because it’s a single-cylinder machine, the new CBR250R is narrow, sporting a low 30.5-inch (775mm) seat height and light 359-pound (163kg) curb weight. The bike’s fuel capacity is of 3.4 gallons (13 liters).
