The E30 3 Series chassis is known for a lot of things, but monster trucking is definitely not one of them. And then again, that didn’t stop the guys from Top Gear USA from creating one for their show.
If you’re a fan of the series, you probably know that it was used a while back and, in order to put it together, they had to improvise quite a lot. The current owner is offering you the chance to buy it for your own evil plans, the car being up for grabs on eBay at the moment.
According to the description, it drives great and here’s how the owner describes the changes that were made to it: ”90 Toyota 4x4 running gear 22r efi 4 cyl engine, 5spd trans, factory transfer case and gears, 39 inch BFG DOT Krawlers.”
That needs some serious translation skills that we don’t possess right now, but we get the general idea that “it runs and drives like a lifted Toyota truck.” I mean, if he says so, it must be true, right?
If you ask us, this is a monstrosity, a thing that doesn’t belong in our world and a slap in the face of the makers of the E30 3 Series, who created it for the track, not to drive it off the road.
There are so many more ways in which the chassis could’ve been used, but there’s a slight chance that you’re the only one driving an E30 Monster Truck and that is worth something to some people.
To keep you safe from searing looks and the envy of those not fast enough to grab it, the car also has a full roll bar set up with a single racing seat and safety harness. The bidding reached $3,100 at the time of writing and we have no idea what the reserve is, but we’re guessing it’s pretty steep anyhow.
