We recently reported the American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Motors will open a gigafactory in Nevada, where it will also receive the help of the local officials... $1.2 billion that is. It sounds huge on paper, but it looks even bigger in reality. The project is one brick away from starting, so you can’t see how big it is, but you can make an idea of that by comparing it with other huge landmarks.
Since nothing helps better than a bit of perspective, a Tesla investor and redditor did a graphic comparison between the gigafactory and some of the tallest buildings in the world.

Well, it won’t be tall structure, but if the whole building was to stay vertically (or the others to lay down next to it) it would be roughly double the size of the CN Tower in Toronto, which raises its top part at almost 600 meters (1,968 ft).

The tallest building in the world right now is the Burj Khalifa hotel in Dubai, which is 829.8 meters (2,722 ft); still, if it was to lay down next to Teslas gigafactory, it would still need 270 meters to reach the other end.

But that’s not all! The gigafactory’s surface is said to be somewhere between 5 and 10 million square feet (464,515 - 929,030 square meters). Just a tad smaller than the Boeing aircraft factory.
