For the 2014 BMW X5 model, the Munich-based company decided to go all out and fit the new Sports Activity Vehicle with everything you could possibly want. Even though the E70 model already had Park Distance Control, in the F15 model, it's been taken to a new level.
The new function can be found in the iDrive system, listed as Auto PDC and will automatically detect the vehicles around you, when parking inside a parking space. The system will use radar sensors posted at the front and back of your car to warn you in case you get too close, using audio and visual signals.
The main difference between the previous versions and the new one is that before you had to manually active the PDC by pressing a button near the gear knob and the feature was optional. Now, all X5 models receive it as standard and it doesn't require manual activation. For more info, check the video below.
