It’s pretty obvious that Cadillac weren’t playing around when they developed the new CTS-V model. As soon as it was released, the car aimed at the BMW M5 and E63 AMG straight on, even the press conference being concentrated on this comparison.
However, they forgot about one other car, and that’s the Dodge Charger Hellcat. At the current moment, that’s the meanest, baddest and most powerful four-door sedan in the world with an engine that’s good for no less than 707 HP. It’s also the fastest production sedan on Earth with a top speed rated at 204 mph (328 km/h).

That’s all about to change though if Hennessey gets its way. The Texas-based tuner wants to give the 6.2-liter V8 under the bonnet of the new CTS-V Caddy a boost in power and transform it into the a monster.

According to their press release (which you can consult, below) they plan on removing the factory supercharger and installing two turbochargers instead. On top of that, other changes such as new forged pistons, custom crankshaft, a new intake, new fueling system and a new exhaust will help them get 1,000 HP out of the V8.

With such numbers, obliterating the current world record held by the Hellcat won’t be an issue. According to company founder, John Hennessey, the car will be capable of reaching close to 240 mph (386 km/h).

For those of you that think 1,000 HP is just too much, the tuner also has plans to launch a less powerful version that gives you just 750 to 800 HP using the stock supercharger mounted on the V8.

Unfortunately, only 24 units of the HPE1000 model will be made for the 2016 model year so if you want one, you’d better hurry up. We have a feeling they won’t be spending too much time in parking lots.
