What’s the next step on your journey once you’ve tuned the Cadillac CTS-V to have as much power as a Bugatti? To drive it really fast, of course!
Hennessey Performance recently took their monster twin-turbo CTS-V coupe to the SH130 toll road near Austin, Texas, planted the right foot deep into the carpet and got to 220.5 mph (354.86 km/h). This makes it the fastest Cadillac CTS-V ever, but it really does sound like the car didn’t work up a sweat doing it.
The Texan tuner says the VR1200 will actually do zero to 60 in 2.9 seconds and a quarter mile run of 10.2 seconds at 141 mph don’t impress you, will actually top out at 242 mph (389.46 km/h).
Only 12 of these cars will ever be built, all featuring a twin-turbo system that boosts the V8 to 1,226 hp and 1,109 pound-feet of torque. Besides the 7-liter aluminum tuned V8, the VR1200 also comes a rebuilt transmission and drivetrain, Brembo brakes with 8-piston calipers at the front, upgraded suspension, a widebody kit and a carbon fiber interior.
