Hamilton Doesn't See Button Title Rival in 2010

Lewis Hamilton is yet to resume action with his McLaren Mercedes team for the upcoming 2010 Formula One campaign, but that isn't to mean the Brit hasn't already made an idea about what to expect next season. Talking about his rivals next season, Ham already hinted that he doesn't rate his new teammate and reigning champion Jenson Button among the Top 5.

The British driver who won the 2008 F1 title seems more threatened by the Red Bull duo than his fellow countryman. Not only that but, amid suggestions that the McLaren Mercedes lineup may be the most competitive from the entire 2010 roster, Hamilton argued that title should actually be awarded to Ferrari.

It's hard to say who is still in front but, in any case, Red Bull, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel (should be there). Above all, Sebastian has improved enormously. He will be strong, just like the car,” said Hamilton, according to his latest interview with Germany's Sport Bild.

Ferrari will come back. With (Fernando) Alonso and (Felipe) Massa, they may have the strongest driver duo. And Brawn – or Mercedes Grand Prix – will be there too, of course...” continued Hamilton, avoiding to spell the “Button” name in that equation.

The rumors suggesting these two will have a harsh relationship at McLaren have already been fueled by Ross Brawn's latest statement, who suggested that Button preferred to walk away from the money offered by Mercedes only to make sure he and Ham will drive the same car next season. So the fight between the McLaren duo promises to be a personal one, as the reigning F1 ace seems eager to put an end to the “Which is better?” dilemma in the UK.

Hamilton and Button is yet to meet at Woking, prior to the start of the preparations for the upcoming season.
