If toys aren’t on your top hobby list, then the name NECA will definitely not ring any bells. However, if you liked the Halo computer/console game and are also looking for a truly badass new motorcycle helmet, you’d better read on. Toy specialist NECA has been testing the waters since last year asking here and there about how cool a Halo-inspired motorcycle helmet sounds like.
It looks like the feedback they got was positive because we now see that NECA revealed a new rendering of the Halo lid, even though still not in a final production form. Even so, if a spectacular helmet is on your shopping list, you’d better watch out for the Master Chief lid and start saving.
The straps have a double D-ring fastening system for premium safety, while the eyeglass-friendly interior is designed to comply with all the technical and comfort requirements of a premium motorcycle helmet. The center and the check pads are removable and washable, covered in a moisture-wicking cloth.
So far the Master Chief has gotten the DOT seal of approval and NECA says it will be available in July in sizes S through XL with a nylon drawstring helmet bag included in the box. There is no word on pricing yet, but we know it will be a limited edition helmet. This means it will sell like hot cakes and become an instant collectors’ item with prices going up after the initial sale is over.
We cannot deny the amazing cool factor of the NECA Master Chief helmet, but we just have to add that the sharp edges are most likely going to make it one of the noisiest motorcycle helmets in history. Can’t wait to see them rolling! As for availability in Europe, we guess NECA will not forget about the Halo fans on the Old Continent...
