After Artega and Melkus, Gumpert was the third small German sports car manufacturer to go down this year, as all three companies filed for bankruptcy. However, Gumpert has apparently managed to secure funding, through a new investor, about which not a lot is known.
No word yet on who the investor is, but according to an inside source, the Apollo will remain in production. This is a big deal, as the Apollo Sport is one of the most focused machines you could ever legally drive on the road - it is a car which lapped the ‘Ring in 7m11,57s, yet you can take it shopping.

It`s good that the 700 hp twin-turbo V8 supercar will live on, and hopefully, Gumpert will transfer their advanced chassis know-how into a car which will look like its design was not an afterthought, or just another way to cover up the chassis.

No official statement has been made yet, but according to AutoVisie, one will be made public soon.
