Watch Gumpert Apollo Goodwood Crash from Inside Car

The Gumpert is a street legal car built for the race track. The car is as light as a butterfly and as powerful as a raging bull... quite literally. One mistake and it will bite your head off, no matter what setting you chose for the electronic traction control.
Needless to say, the Gumpert is the sort of car that demands absolute attention, which is not something you have when there’s a pretty blond in shiny leggings in the passenger seat. It sounded like a brilliant idea to take one of these sexy girls, a Gumpert and ex BTCC driver Tony Gilham and mix them together.

But what could have been a great viral video turned quite badly. Carrying too much speed through a corner at the famous Goodwood circuit, Gilham crashed into the protecting walls, which are made of hay bales.

We’ve all seen the video from outside the car, but now the beautiful blogger Nancy Atkinson-Turner has released an on-board video of how she hurt her neck during that accident.

According to her, it was never supposed to be a banzai run up the hill, which is why she was not tightly strapped into her seat.

“It was never meant to be about speed. It was a parade. Only someone forgot to flick the racing driver switch off,” she says.

She suffered whiplash in the accident, and says she wants to thank the people who kept her calm “with the help of drugs”. It’s nice to see she has a sense of humor about it!
