Pro Mod racer Graham Ellis survived a horrific accident last Saturday during qualifying for the National Finals at the Santa Pod Raceway, when his turbocharged Plymouth Superbird hit the guardrail and rolled over several times after leaving the drag strip.
Amazingly enough, and despite suffering from several fractures to the face, neck and back, among other injuries, Ellis was conscious and talking when the nearby medical crew arrived at the scene. The driver was immediately transported by helicopter at a local hospital, where doctors said he should make a full recovery.

While we wish Graham a quick recovery and return to the drag strip, we hope we won’t have to report about these kind of crashes, or the scary Porsche 911 RSR accident that took place during the Hellendoorn Rally, anytime soon.
