Go Snowboarding with Jeep

What better way to spend the weekend then go snowboarding, right in the middle of your town? Wacky idea, we know, but not at all far fetched, if Jeep happens to be in the neighborhood.

Being perhaps the most active brand in the Chrysler lineup when it comes to promoting a new image, Jeep announced that on February 18, the Madison, Wisconsin Main Street will turn into a snowboarding track.

The stunt to be pulled by Jeep in Madison is tied to the city's Winter Festival, an event which is expected to draw a huge local crowd. And, in the past year at least, we've seen how fond Jeep has become of huge crowds.

"We are incredibly excited about taking part in the Madison Winter Festival, and creating a spectacle that consumers wouldn't think to see sitting next to their state's capital," said Lisa Labrecque, Jeep brand marketing manager.

"Jeep's participation in the event will provide Wisconsinites with a chance to see competitive snowboarding in their backyards, and also check out the newest features and style of Jeep's 2011 line up and new Grand Jeep Cherokee."

The car maker will be bringing to the event the best models in its lineup (red the entire lineup). To make them even more visible, the manufacturer will be host of the 2011 Downtown Throwdown snowboarding competition, and will even organize a sledding area for children.

"Madison is eagerly-awaiting this event, and we look forward to watching some of the region's top riders compete in such a fun and exciting competition," said Yuriy Gusev, Madison Winter Festival director.
