The recent AMD Championship of Bike Building at the IMS Show held in Seattle, Washington, saw a heavily customized interpretation of the 1945 Harley Flathead classic bike, which can be seen in the adjacent images, snapping one of the coveted awards.
Robbie Kerr of Kootenay Motorcycle Art from Nelson, Canada, won the Freestyle class with "Glasgow Kiss", which picked up the Ness Enterprises Partner Pick of Excellence Award at this year's World Championship.
Power comes from a 120 cu.in. JIMS motor equipped with an S&S carburetor, and is transmitted via a 5-speed Baker RSD transmission associated with an Evil Engineering 4″ open belt system with custom machined pulley covers.
The headlight, springers, bars, hubs, internal throttle, gas tank, frame, seat, rocker covers, cam cover, primary covers, footrests, license plate holder, taillight, electrical box, air filter, and oil tank are all one-off designs by Robbie Kerr.
The oil tank fabrication is by Roger Goldammer, gas tank fabrication by Fat Katz and frame fabrication by Rolling Thunder.
Finished in semi glossy blue paint, the Glasgow Kiss was applied by Ken Sherbinin, confirming the new trend where deep glossy shine is considered too high tech for many styles of bikes inspired by the past.
Other custom features fitted on the bike include pipes by Miami Exhaust, 80-spoke wheels dressed with Metzeler tires, rear brake with inboard disc by HHI, front brake by 360 Brake, Speedo by Dakota Digital, hand and modified foot controls by HHI, and mirrors by SRT.
