All that makes for a fitting venue for one of the world’s most extreme Porsche customizers - Germany-based Gemballa - and its Tornado incarnation of the Cayenne. The model features heavy exterior and interior modifications, plus a substation engine tune-up.
According to the German tuning house, the new body parts, which include a unique front and rear ends, and an array of bespoke aero parts, not only change the appearance of the two Porsche models, but also help reduce weight.
"We have significantly reduced weight, but without compromising strength, safety or comfort. Rather than cutting into the steel panels and bonding on new parts, as is common in the aftermarket industry, we completely replace entire panels with bespoke carbon-fibre ones that use the original mounting points. These new panels, which include the bonnet, front wings, doors, front and rear bumper and valance, save a total of 70kg,” explained Andreas Schwarz, CEO of Gemballa.
The 958 (generation) Cayenne now comes with this special body kit that uses interesting elements, such as massive air intakes and vertical LED daytime running lights for the front bumper and wider wheel arches. The kit also includes some massive 22-inch wheels, which Gemballa say are just as light as factory-built 20-inch ones.
Under the hood, the Cayenne Turbo’s 4.8-liter biturbo V8 unit, which delivers 500 hp stock, gets an ECU remap that raises the output to 580 hp. The model uses the Stage 1 name, with more power-craving customers able to opt for a Stage 2 package, which provides a massive 700 hp.
In order to celebrate the tuners 30 years of activity, production has been limited to 30 units in total.
