Garage doors… They often have a mind of their own and are the second most annoying thing a motorist has to interact with, right after automatic barriers when you forgot your card and there's a cue behind you.
This next video should be considered official evidence that there are Gremlins at work in the world. Security camera footage capture a garage door slamming onto a Toyota Yaris and its driver. After watching a motorcycle get in, he/she approaches the door and believing it's going back up tries to enter the building.
However, the door slams down with the fury of Gandalf fighting a mighty creature that's been summoned from the pits of Mordor. That door is just like the bouncer at a club. Pretty girl (motorcycle) comes in with no problem, but when a middle aged bold guy with a cheap suit one size too small… it's curtains for you sir!
We suppose this could have been much worse. What if this happened to a convertible – it could have decapitated the driver. Thankfully, this is not a Ferrari, but a Toyota Yaris, so nobody cares about the damage to the car!
What we're seeing is most likely a mechanical glitch with the automatic mechanism, which appears to be operated by remote. After the scooter passed by and the door was closing, he pushed the button for reopening it and the system glitches.
