Over the past couple of years, we've seen tremendous advancements in the electric bike realm, and given the high gas prices, scarce parking spots, and annoying traffic jams, there are enough reasons to ditch the age-old car in favor of a bike.
With reasonable pricing, long ranges, comfortable upright riding position, efficient motors, and off-road capability, some e-bikes are designed specifically to replace your car for almost all your journeys and make commutes easier and more convenient. Such a two-wheeler is the new Fuell Folld-1, a fat-tire e-bike designed for both city streets and off-road trails.

Fuell is a New York-based electric two-wheeler company started in 2019 by Buell Motorcycles founder and former Harley-Davidson engineer Erik Buell. The new model unveiled by the start-up is the venture's first foldable e-bike and represents the perfect blend of utility and thrill.

It features an innovative one-piece magnesium alloy frame and rides on 20-inch wide and 4-inch thick tires. Its durable design, combined with full front and rear suspension, ensures a smooth riding experience and allows owners to not only ride at a leisurely pace on pavement but also zip across challenging up-hill terrains. As the company touts, "Folld-1 is not just a mode of transportation – it's an experience."

In terms of power, the Folld-1 comes equipped with a capable 250-watt Bafang motor that delivers 85 Nm (63 foot pounds) of torque, ensuring solid performance. With electrical assistance from this powerful motor, riders will be able to reach top speeds of up to 20 mph (32 kph).

The electric mill is fed by a large Samsung 720 Wh battery, which is integrated into the frame. Designed to offer a maximum range of 70 miles (110 km) in pedal assist mode, the battery is removable for easy charging. In Turbo mode, riders will still enjoy a decent range of 30 miles (50 km).

Folld-1 is compatible with fast charging, so it will rejuice from 0 to 80% in 4 hours, or to 100% in just 6 hours. This is quite convenient for those who use it to commute to work, as they can charge it up during their work day and have it ready for any adventure they have planned in the evening.

In terms of aesthetics, the e-bike has a sporty, urban appearance, and its magnesium alloy monocoque frame means the manufacturer aimed to endow it with strength while keeping its weight down. The Fuell Folld-1 tips the scales at just 74.5 pounds (33.75 kg) without the battery. Moreover, its foldable design means it can be easily transported and stored in the trunk of your car, your garage, or even a corner of your apartment.

Fuell's Folld-1 fat-tire electric bike is already available for purchase for $2,495, but if you hurry up, you might be able to get it at a special introductory price with a $500 discount.
