France Plans to Double Parking Fines for Bikes

France Plans to Double Parking Fines for Bikes (pic from Spain, actually) 1 photo
It's a new week, therefore we might expect more silly bike-related things from France. As nice and welcoming the French are, they somehow manage to elect funny guys... who come up with funny ideas, obviously. The last one is doubling the parking fines, even for bikes, from the actual €17 ($22) to a rounder sum of €35 ($45).
Since taxes are already high in France and more celebrities decide to register for taxes in adjacent, more friendly contries, raising the bar comes with a major risk, given the well-known appettite for protest and destruction of the French masses. So in search for €30Bil ($39 bil) needed for Paris (the capital city) expansion, the politicians remembered the fines

This is a bit forced, especially as the penalties will be imposed for bikes whose pre-paid parking meter expired... and these machines can only be paid for two hours at a time. Towing and more fines will be, of course, due, and the guys running Paris hope to raise some more money.

Sadly how they fail to see how easy it would be to encourage the use of motorbikes, scooters an bicycles, vehicles which have been proven to make traffic more fluid. C'est les Francais..
