Chinese automaker Chery, a rather anonymous name in the automotive industry since 1997, has appointed former Porsche designer Hakan Saracoglu to improve their products.
According to Automotive News, Saracoglu has a team of 30 on his hands and his goal is to come up with new concepts and designs for Chery's future models ranging from sedans to SUVs.

"Chery is not just QQ, we're going to change that. The company is redefining itself. Chery is standing for value, for design and gaining customer confidence. That's where we want to go," said Saracoglu.

As you might have already guessed, Chery is best known for building the low-cost QQ minicar which resembles Chevrolet's old Spark model.

Hakan Saracoglu, also an ex-Ford Europe employee, has helped designing cars such as the Ford Focus, Ford Mondeo, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Cayman and the Porsche 918 Spyder.
