Ford Transit ECOnetic UK Pricing Revealed

Ford today revealed pricing for the British version of the Transit with ECOnetic low CO2 technology, a model based on the front-wheel-drive Transit 280 panel van. The car will be offered with a price tag of 18,095 pounds ($29,600), with the standard model offering an impressive array of standard features, including ESP, Hill Launch Assist, Ford Audio 6000 unit, full steel bulkhead and solid tie-down hooks.

It is powered by a 2.2-liter Duratorq TDCi engine that develops 115 PS and achieves a combined fuel economy rating of 39.2 mpg, with CO2 emissions reduced to around 189 g/km. It offers 1,097kg gross payload (the standard Transit 280S van is 1,092kg), Ford said.

"In the real world, a fuel economy saving of 10 per cent can make a major impact on running costs. Transit has always been the vehicle business people choose when they want value for money and low cost of ownership. With this new ECOnetic version we now have the best in class CO2 Add that to its durability, reliability and the extensive Ford dealer network and you have a winner," commercial vehicle director, Ford of Britain, Steve Kimber, said.

A 750 pounds worth option adds to the aforementioned features a Diesel Particulate Filter (cDPF) that helps the Transit ECOnetic comply with Euro 5 emission regulations. Additionally, it reduces fuel consumption to 32.47 mpg in urban cycle and to 44.84 mpg in extra urban conditions.

"Detail engineering for the Transit ECOnetic included reducing the application of the heaviest options such as a second sliding door. However, all standard and optional safety and comfort features are available," Ford added.
